Dawn has been a part of Harvard Recreation since 2003 and has been in the fitness industry for over 20 years.
Dawn has a Bachelors degree in Kinesology and her fitness career was motivated by the untimely passing of her grandfather during her sophomore year in college. Since his death from inactivity, she has vowed to make the world move and is fueled by her passion for leading and mentoring others, from fitness class participants to other instructors and trainers. Dawn’s philosophy lies in helping everyone find the joy in movement, leading to longer, healthy, active lives.
When Dawn isn’t teaching a group fitness class, you can find her around campus spreading the word about all the great resources to be active and well at Harvard, or creating new programs. She is a certified personal trainer, group fitness instructor and a former health club owner as well as a Master Trainer and Educator for Schwinn™ Cycling, BOSU® Fitness, Tabata Bootcamp™, Barre Above®, WaterRower™ and SCW Mania® conventions. Dawn has created many programs to inspire the Harvard Community to get moving, from Harvard Slim Down (now Harvard Shape-Up) to H-FIT (Harvard Fitness Instructor Training), and she wants everyone to know that we are all a work in progress. Wherever you are in your journey to a healthier happier you, she will be your number one fan. She just needs you to take the first step and come in the door!
