Harvard Women's Ultimate Wins Brown Annual Tournament
On the weekend of November 5-6, Harvard Women's Ultimate Frisbee
(Quasar) won Brown University's annual fall tournament. 16 New
England college women's teams competed at the Brown tournament,
this year held at Glen Farm fields in Portsmouth, RI. In the pool
play on the first day of the tournament, Harvard scored easy wins
against Boston University and Bentley University, beating both
teams 13-3. In the last game of the day, Harvard beat the
first-seed Middlebury 11-8 in a tough game in the wind, breaking
seed and advancing to quarterfinals. On Sunday, Harvard played
Wellesley and took the quarterfinal game 12-10. After beating
Boston College 15-9 in semifinals, Harvard was automatically
awarded the championship as Middlebury forfeited the final game.
The team hopes to build on this exciting success at the last
tournament of the fall season as it prepares for the college series
in the spring.
