"The Deadlift"

This course will teach you the proper form and technique involved in performing a proper deadlift. By perfecting form and technique we will focus on strength development ultimately increasing your one rep max. This small group clinic allows each participant to receive one on one attention. Each participant will be able to ask questions at the beginning of every class and will be given the appropriate tools needed to practice the technique on their own.
A general outline of the class progression is included below:

Week One:

  • Mobility/flexibility
  • Core development

Week Two:

  • Preparation/Activation
  • Working accessory muscles

Week Three:

  • FORM, FORM, FORM
  • Recovery/Foam rolling

Week Four:

  • FORM
  • Adding weight to the dead lift

Week Five:

  • FORM
  • Déjà vu "Adding weight to the dead lift"

Week Six

  • Progressions/Increasing your max
  • Final Questions?

Course Information:
Dates: Mondays, March 29th- May 3rd
Time: 12:00-12:55pm
Personal Trainer: Jason Carriveau
Location: Hemenway Gymnasium Weight Room

*Facility Membership is required*
Fee: $120.00 per person
There is a limit of 6 participants per class, so register early!
Registration is March 15th-March 26th at the front desk of Hemenway Gymnmasium.

Strength Training Orientations


Looking for an efficient workout? Register for a Strength Training Orientation at the MAC or Hemenway. A Personal Trainer will teach you how to use the weight machines in the express circuit, along with basic use of cardio machines. Orientations are limited to 10 participants.  Each participant will receive a strength worksheet. 

Registration Info: There is a $5.00 fee for the orientation and pre-registration is required. Sign up at the front desk at least 24 hours in advance. Orientations with less than 3 participants enrolled with be canceled due to low enrollment.
