Yin Yoga -canceled due to low enrollment

This class emphasizes deep release with long holds, which promote greater circulation of energy through the meridians (energy channels) of the body. Yin Yoga targets the deep connective tissues of the body - the tendons, ligaments and cartilage. A Yin practice can lubricate joint spaces and increase flexibility, especially in the hips, pelvis and lower spine, providing cross-training for a more active yoga practice or other physical activities, as well as excellent preparation for seated meditation. Yin Yoga is uniquely contemplative practices that connect you to your inner self and helps you slow down.

Yoga for Pain or Injury Relief

Are you tired of back pain and aching joints, or recovering from an injury? Learn how to bring fresh oxygen, blood, and  nerve energy into your painful areas while you release tensions from the body that may be keeping you from performing  at your fullest. In this 8 week class we will learn how to access and relax hardened muscles that have been used to stabilize any injury or imbalance through the body. Yoga can reduce your body's tension in reaction to pain or injury, and provide an opportunity to "move through" the pain instead of resisting it. We will strengthen the body through standing poses; open the hips, shoulders, and back, use breathing exercises, meditation training, and relaxation to help release
unnecessary tension in the body.
Dates: Fridays, 2/12-4/9 NO CLASS March 19th
