Personal Trainers

 

Kat Brown is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer and a Licensed Massage Therapist. With over 5 years of experience in massage therapy Kat has had opportunity to work with diverse population including college and professional athletes as well as those including with a variety physical limitations. She is currently working towards a degree in Exercise and Health Science at UMASS Boston. In addition to personal training and massage therapy Kat is a certified Schwinn Indoor Cycling instructor and is pursuing a group exercise certification this November.  Kat played competitive basketball, soccer, and collegiate golf, and is currently training for a half marathon.  Kat hopes to use her experiences to help others realize they are capable of achieving more than they think and loves to be a part of people realizing and reach their goals. She is currently taking clients at the MAC and Hemenway.

Jason Carriveau, ATC graduated from Norwich University in Vermont with a degree in Sports Medicine and a concentration in Athletic Training. He is currently a Certified Athletic Trainer through the BOCATC specializing in injury prevention, athletic performance, and weight loss. While at Norwich he was involved in the athletic  training department working with various sports teams to help assess and treat a wide variety of sports related injuries.
Jason has over 6 years of experience working with clients from all backgrounds and is the Assistant Fitness Manager at Hemenway where he is available to train clients.

 

Kristina Courage is a certified personal trainer by the National Personal received Training Institute in Costa Mesa, CA. In addition she is an SCW certified Group Exercise Instructor specializing in muscle conditioning, boot camp and Nordic Walking. Kristina has a background in competitive swimming, swim coaching, and 10 years  combined experience in recreational and cross country running. Kristina is currently studying for a second certification from NSCA-CPT in August. She hopes to have a positive impact on the alarmingly high rate of obesity of Americans and believes health and fitness play a key role in living a full and balanced life.  Kristina is not currently taking new clients.

 

Mike Dingley is the Assistant Fitness Manager at the Malkin Athletic Center. He holds a Bachelors degree from Ithaca College with a minor in Exercise Science. Currently Mike is certified by NSCA, CSCS, NASM PT and AFAA. One of Mike's clients is the current Miss Rhode Island and is in the running for Miss America. Mike specializes in helping clients work towardperfection and  taking them to the next level. Mike is available to train clients at the MAC and Hemenway.       

 

Kate Doherty is the Assistant Fitness Manager for the Malkin Athletic Center. She earned a BS degree in Exercise Science with a minor in Dance.  Currently Kate is a certified personal trainer by the National   Academy of Sports Medicine. She is certified also certified by Maddog Spinning, Turbo Kick , SCW Pilates and AFAA. Kate enjoys dance and outdoor activities and specializes in dance movement and pre and post natal training. She is available to train clients at the MAC.  

 

 

Mike Doyle is an AFFA certified Personal Trainer and is currently pursuing his Bachlors Degree at Suffolk University. Over the past two years he has held multiple positions at the MAC and    Hemenway including Fitness Staff, Recreation Intern and a Personal Trainer, which has exposed him to different training styles. Mike previously played competitive hockey and has a strong background in sports conditioning and strength training programs. He has gained experience with weight loss programming through his involvement with the Harvard Slim Down Program. Mike is available to train clients at the MAC and Hemenway.

 

Cristina Hoff is the Fitness Program Manager at Hemenway Gymnasium. In the past ten years she has obtained numerous fitness certifications including the STOTT Pilates Mat Certification, AFFA Personal Training, NETA Group Exercise, Schwinn Indoor Cycling, ZUMBA, Balletone, and Body Bar among others. With over twenty years of dance experience Cristina danced professionally for the WNBA CT Sun, AHL Hartford Wolfpack and coached the Nationally Ranked  Harvard Crimson Dance Team for two years. Cristina holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and a minor in Dance. Cristina is available for private pilates mat work sessions at Hemenway.

 

 

As the Area Fitness Program Manager at Harvard University and Harvard Law School, Dawn Murdock is responsible for the recreational programming for the 30,000+ members of the Harvard Community.  She also oversees and educates more than 70 Instructors and personal trainers at the two  facilities. Dawn has been in the fitness industry for over 10 years, and formerly owned a health club in Northern Michigan. She earned a  Bachelor's Degree majoring in Kinesiology and is currently an AFAA Certified Personal Trainer and Aerobics Instructor, and holds many specialty certificates.  Dawn is a Master Trainer for Schwinn® Indoor Cycling, BOSU, and Gliding and is also a faculty member of Sunshine Fitness Resources. She is currently not taking new clients.

 

 

Meg Schade graduated from Skidmore College with a BS in Exercise science. She is a NASM certified personal trainer as well as SCW certified group exercise instructor, group strength instructor, and Schwinn certified cycling instructor. Currently, Meg is a full-time student in a dual program at Simmons College obtaining her graduate degree in Nutrition,  as well as completing a program to become to Registered Dietician(RD) . She looks forward  in the future to be able to offer nutrition consults to clients. For  now, she specialized in weight loss and weight management. She is  currently training clients at Hemenway.

Kerry L. Smith is an Assistant Fitness Manager at Hemenway Gymnasium. She is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer (C.P.T.), a Registered Yoga Teacher (R.Y.T) with the Yoga Alliance and a certified ZUMBA  instructor. She is currently pursuing a B.S. in Exercise Science at UMASS Boston. Kerry received her 200-hour yoga teacher training certification through Prana Power Yoga. Kerry has over twelve years of dance experience and was a member of the Fitchburg State College Dance team. She specializes in helping her clients maintain safe and correct alignment, which she draws from her yoga  background. Kerry is the former editor of several sports and fitness books about topics such as Krav Maga, stretching and strength training. Kerry is available to train clients at Hemenway.
