Specialty Classes

During each semester we also offer progressive Specialty Instructional courses, with each week's instruction building on the prior classes. These classes include Ballet, Harvard Slim Down ,Scuba Diving, Swim Classes, TRX Suspension Training, Tabata Bootcamp & many more offerings.

Registration Information

Register for courses online between Wednesday, January 21st and Tuesday, February 3rd   Non-member registration begins on 01/27 if space is available.  

Late registration will be accepted (as of 2/4) if space is available, however there will be a $10 late registration penalty for all registration on and after 2/4/15.

Early registration is encouraged as space is limited.  Course fees cannot be prorated.

Refunds are granted at the discretion of the MAC and Hemenway Management and only prior to the registration deadline (2/3/15). 

A minimum of 4 participants are required to offer each course. Register early to avoid class cancellation due to low enrollment.

Please wear appropriate workout attire and closed toe athletic shoes to all fitness courses. 

Bring a bottle of water to class. 

Arrive promptly at the designated start date of class, if you are more than 10 minutes late you will NOT be permitted to participate.

Harvard Affiliate/Non-Member: $144

Non-members may register beginning January 27th if space is available.  

Non-members may enter the facility 1 hour before and may stay up to one hour after class.


Complete Barre integrates elements of STOTT Pilates, ballet & strength training. It emphasizes on the correct biomechanics of movement combined with the power of music to increase strength, flexibility stamina & dynamic stability. No dance experience or tutus are required! Participants may wear socks with grips that are suitable for Barre classes or go barefoot.

Have you ever wanted to take ballet, but thought it was too late to start? This class offers basic ballet for the absolute beginner of any age and level of dance experience. We will focus on basic ballet positions and vocabulary, while paying special attention to posture, core strength and body control.  .This class is for the complete beginner—no shoes, leotards, or tights are required; however comfortable, form-fitting clothing (i.e. yoga pants, T-shirt or tank top) is preferred.

Triathlon training specialty program is for the beginner/intermediate athlete offering instruction, tips and a personalized training program based on the desired distance (s). The length of the sessions are 30 minutes and it will be offered 3x/week. Each day we will work on specific swim, bike or running skills. We will also cover transition, gear and nutrition. At the end of the program you will be able to test your skills during a mini indoor triathlon race!*
