Specialty Classes


During each semester we also offer progressive Specialty classes, with each week's instruction building on the prior classes. These classes include Hip Hop, Meditation,Scuba Diving, Swim Classes, TRX Suspension Training, Tabata Bootcamp & many more offerings that are listed below.  

Summer 2014 Specialty Classes Malkin Athletic Center & Hemenway Gymnasium 

Register for classes online at http://recreation.gocrimson.com/fitness/specialty_classes between June 24-July 2nd.

Late registrations will be accepted (after 7/2 if space is available, however there will be a $10 late registration penalty for all registrations on & after 7/3. Payment is due upon registration.

We accept AMEX, Discover, Visa, or MC. Sorry no checks, cash or term-billing. Early registration is encouraged as space is limited. Course fees cannot be prorated.

Refunds are granted at the discretion of Management & only prior to the registration deadline (7/2).

 Minimum of 10 participants required to offer each course.

Non-members may register beginning July 3rd if space is available.  

Non-members may enter the facility 1 hour before and may stay up to one hour after class.


Course Offerings

Pilates/Barre Fusion (Pilabarre') REGISTRATION CLOSED

If you love Pilates AND ballet, then this is the perfect class for you! Strengthen, stretch and enhance the mind/body connection with motivating music and graceful, isometric movements.  It's a fun & effective way to change your body. Pilabarre' will lift your seat, tone your thighs, abs, arms and burn fat in record breaking time!  This class is for all levels.

BollyX REGISTRATION CLOSED

A Bollywood-inspired dance and fitness program, this class combines choreography, high and low-intensity dance sequences and lots of energy. BollyX uses music from all around the world and gets its musical inspiration from the film industry of India, known as Bollywood. Sweat, dance and get a great workout with BollyX!

Meta-Triathlon REGISTRATION CLOSED

Meta what? Not exactly the Olympic distance, and with rowing instead of swimming! All of that indoors! If you are interested in acquiring the basic skills about how to start training towards your first triathlon, including the transitions from one section to the other, then come join our “beyond or after” triathlon, as the prefix ‘meta’ alludes to. We will be working on Schwinn spinning bicycles, indo rowers / ergometers and running on treadmills. This class is for all levels, amateur rowers, cycling enthusiasts or runners who wish to improve on their bike; no experience is needed!
